Your question is a bit like asking how big is a ball of string.

Access 97 has a specified maximum size of 1 Gigabyte. More if you connect
separate back-ends. Its maximum practical size is smaller depending upon the
number of users the robustness of the hardware/network and the quality of
design.

The largest database I've seen was over 30GB and had over 80 tables in over
80 separate backend databases. It has been running succesfully daily on an
NT 4.0 DEC Alpha for over 4 years. It's an Access 2.0 database of images
that's well designed (I didn't design it <g>) and has only one regular user.

I have comfortably run a 200 MB Access 97 database with 30 users on an NT
4.0 network with a Dell server. It didn't start out to be that big of a
project, and they will soon need to archive much of their data or move to
SQL-Server.
